Hearing loss in dogs can be caused by different factors. For many dog owners, living with a deaf dog can be confusing because of their lack of knowledge on dealing with such a dog.
Fortunately, most dogs that lose their hearing can go on living a long and happy life. Communication and adequate care are the key to the dogs’ happiness, but also to their owners’ happiness. A dog’s ear has a complex structure consisting in nerves, cartilage and small bones that, along with the brain, allow for the interpretation of sounds.
