Laila is 12 years old. She’s one of the veterans, so Laila has never known any other life than the shelter. She doesn’t know that there are people, warm houses, radiators, couches or dogs sleeping in beds out there. She doesn’t even know that there are dumpsters, parks, streets, streets, cars, or tall blocks with many-many lights.
If she finds no one, Laila could be born and die here. It’s a story unfortunately repeated a thousand times. Laila is frightened of other dogs and asks you one thing: if you can’t adopt her, at least do everything in your power to stop abandonment. Thousands of lives are being destroyed by this scourge.
