Laila is 11 years old and she’s been at the shelter since she was a few days old.

She is, therefore, one of our veterans. Laila has never known another kind of life except the one at the shelter. She doesn’t know that, out there, there are humans, warm meals, radiators, couches or dogs that sleep in bed. She doesn’t even know that there are garbage bins, parks, streets, cars or tall buildings with so many lights.

If she can’t find someone to adopt her, Laila might even die here. It’s a story that keeps repeating itself thousands of times. Laila is afraid of other dogs and she only asks one thing of you: if you can’t adopt her, at least do everything in your power to stop the abandonment. Thousands of lives are destroyed by this plight.
