Sponsor Bubu

Become Bubu's hero, even from afar

Bubu has the looks of a purebred, but you shouldn’t believe everything you think you see. Not only does Bubu resemble a pedigree dog while actually being the most genuine and authentic stray, but he’s also something more…

You know those guys who act extremely aggressive and authoritative in public, but once you get to know them, you realize they’re actually gentle, warm-hearted kids, just way too insecure? Well, that’s Bubu. In the kennel, in front of his friends and visitors, he looks like Cerberus. But the moment you take him out, he transforms into the soft, warm pup we always knew he was.

Bubu has been in the shelter for seven years and no longer has the strength to dream. Could you lend him yours?

How your sponsorship helps Bubu

Every dog at Speranța Shelter deserves food, warmth, medical care and love, whether they find a home next month or spend many more years with us.

Dogs like Bubu often wait the longest for a home. Whether or not Bubu ever finds a forever family, your sponsorship means they never go without.

Although your sponsorship is linked to Bubu, your donation also helps us care for every dog at Speranța Shelter. Together, we make sure no rescued dog is ever left without the essentials they need.

By sponsoring Bubu, you’re helping provide:

  • Nutritious meals every day
  • Veterinary care, including check-ups, medication and treatment whenever needed
  • A safe place to live, with warm shelter during Romania's cold winters
  • Exercise, enrichment and companionship to keep them healthy and happy
  • Special care, rehabilitation or mobility support if their condition requires it

Prefer to make a one-off gift?

If you’d rather make a single contribution instead of sponsoring monthly, you can make a one-off donation to support Bubu.

Your gift will help cover the cost of food, veterinary care, shelter and everything else they need throughout the year.

Unlike monthly sponsorship, this option does not include regular updates or a dedicated sponsorship relationship with Bubu. It’s simply another meaningful way to help provide the care they deserve.

Why dogs like Bubu need sponsors

Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.

Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.

Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.

Sponsorship allows dogs like Bubu to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
