Sponsor Negruța

Become Negruța's hero, even from afar

For more than 15 years, Negruta has been living in the shelter. She has seen dozens of friends leave for loving families, but she has always remained behind, with her gentle eyes and the hope that one day it would be her turn.

Now, at her age, she no longer dreams of a home, but only of peace and people who will keep her in their hearts. Negruta can be adopted from a distance – your gesture will bring her food, care, and safety.

Even if you cannot take her home, you can show her that she has not been forgotten.

How your sponsorship helps Negruța

Every dog at Speranța Shelter deserves food, warmth, medical care and love, whether they find a home next month or spend many more years with us.

Dogs like Negruța often wait the longest for a home. Whether or not Negruța ever finds a forever family, your sponsorship means they never go without.

Although your sponsorship is linked to Negruța, your donation also helps us care for every dog at Speranța Shelter. Together, we make sure no rescued dog is ever left without the essentials they need.

By sponsoring Negruța, you’re helping provide:

  • Nutritious meals every day
  • Veterinary care, including check-ups, medication and treatment whenever needed
  • A safe place to live, with warm shelter during Romania's cold winters
  • Exercise, enrichment and companionship to keep them healthy and happy
  • Special care, rehabilitation or mobility support if their condition requires it

If you’d rather make a single contribution instead of sponsoring monthly, you can make a one-off donation to support Negruța.

Your gift will help cover the cost of food, veterinary care, shelter and everything else they need throughout the year.

Unlike monthly sponsorship, this option does not include regular updates or a dedicated sponsorship relationship with Negruța. It’s simply another meaningful way to help provide the care they deserve.

Why dogs like Negruța need sponsors

Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.

Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.

Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.

Sponsorship allows dogs like Negruța to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
