Zara is a young dog who has recently become a mother. She is weak after a difficult birth, but deeply devoted to her puppies. She needs food, care, and support to recover and to raise her puppies safely. Zara can be helped through sponsorship (remote adoption), a gesture that ensures she receives the food and care she needs during this difficult period.
If you would like to support Zara, please consider sponsoring her. Any help makes a huge difference.

Dogs like Zara often wait the longest for a home. Whether or not Zara ever finds a forever family, your sponsorship means they never go without.
Although your sponsorship is linked to Zara, your donation also helps us care for every dog at Speranța Shelter. Together, we make sure no rescued dog is ever left without the essentials they need.

Press the button below to start sponsoring Zara
Tell us a little about you, choose how much you'd like to give each month and for how long (minimum 3 months), then confirm with your first payment. After that, it's automatic, nothing more for you to do.
Once your sponsorship begins, we'll send you a welcome email followed by regular updates and photos, so you can see how Zara is doing and the difference your support is making.
If you’d rather make a single contribution instead of sponsoring monthly, you can make a one-off donation to support Zara.
Your gift will help cover the cost of food, veterinary care, shelter and everything else they need throughout the year.
Unlike monthly sponsorship, this option does not include regular updates or a dedicated sponsorship relationship with Zara. It’s simply another meaningful way to help provide the care they deserve.
Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.
Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.
Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.
Sponsorship allows dogs like Zara to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
For more than 20 years, Speranța Shelter has been rescuing, treating and caring for abandoned dogs in Romania.
Today, more than 500 dogs rely on us every day for food, medical treatment, rehabilitation and a safe place to live while they wait for a forever home.
Every sponsorship helps us continue this work.
