Sponsor Copa

Become Copa's hero, even from afar

It was hard for Copa to give birth and raise her seven puppies among the garbage. They had no water, and food was a rare luxury. The trash somehow protected them from cars and people, but their lives were full of hardship and uncertainty.

We brought Copa and her puppies to the shelter, where they are finally safe and receive proper food and care. When she arrived, she was exhausted, but calm,  as if she somehow sensed that things would be better from now on.

Copa and her seven puppies still need help.

Long-distance adoption is essential. It provides them with the food they urgently need, daily care, medical treatments, and a chance at a better life.

How your sponsorship helps Copa

Every dog at Speranța Shelter deserves food, warmth, medical care and love, whether they find a home next month or spend many more years with us.

Dogs like Copa often wait the longest for a home. Whether or not Copa ever finds a forever family, your sponsorship means they never go without.

Although your sponsorship is linked to Copa, your donation also helps us care for every dog at Speranța Shelter. Together, we make sure no rescued dog is ever left without the essentials they need.

By sponsoring Copa, you’re helping provide:

  • Nutritious meals every day
  • Veterinary care, including check-ups, medication and treatment whenever needed
  • A safe place to live, with warm shelter during Romania's cold winters
  • Exercise, enrichment and companionship to keep them healthy and happy
  • Special care, rehabilitation or mobility support if their condition requires it

Prefer to make a one-off gift?

If you’d rather make a single contribution instead of sponsoring monthly, you can make a one-off donation to support Copa.

Your gift will help cover the cost of food, veterinary care, shelter and everything else they need throughout the year.

Unlike monthly sponsorship, this option does not include regular updates or a dedicated sponsorship relationship with Copa. It’s simply another meaningful way to help provide the care they deserve.

Why dogs like Copa need sponsors

Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.

Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.

Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.

Sponsorship allows dogs like Copa to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
