Why dogs like Maia need sponsors

Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.

Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.

Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.

Sponsorship allows dogs like Maia to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
